Lauren Smith is one of the most competent people I have encountered.
She can and will do pretty much anything to help. She kept our family sane after the birth of our second child--serving as a stand-in husband because mine was in the midst of a trial and swamped at work for the three months following our younger daughter's birth. Lauren took care of the baby, ran errands, shopped, always (always, always) kept my laundry moving through the system by switching machines and folding what was dry, took my older daughter for various adventures or just sat at home and read to her while I dealt with the baby.
During her 8+ hours a week with us, she became a part of our family--a sister to my daughters and a friend to me and my husband. She was always on time, always went above and beyond what I asked her to do, and always called en route to see if she could pick anything up for me.
Depending on the mood of the house she was able to be very present or to be virtually invisible.
In addition, Lauren literally managed our move to Texas. She helped pack, label, sort-through, and give-away all of our "stuff." She made deliveries all over town to various friends and took car-loads to Goodwill. She oversaw the packers and the movers while we swam at a hotel pool and enjoyed our last days in DC--single-handedly removing virtually all the stress from the move.
After our move she facilitated the exchange of keys with the next tenants and the cleaning of the house prior to their move in. The list never ends--she does labels, mails gifts, buys gifts, delivers treats and meals to people in need, and she never, ever, ever forgets a birthday.
My daughter puts it best "Lauren rocks."

Lauren is a life saver. When overwhelmed with several clients all wanting my time and attention, Lauren walked in, took over my computer and within minutes was answering emails and phone calls. She knows enough to ask questions when she doesn’t know the answers and is smart enough to be intuitive about so much! I could not have survived the busiest year of my business if it hadn’t been for Lauren.
